Surah Al-Masad (The Palm Fiber) سُورَة المسد

Surah Al-Masad is the 111th chapter of the Quran, consisting of 5 verses. It speaks about the fate of those who oppose the truth and choose the path of wrongdoing. Below are the verses of this Surah.

Translation: Surah Al-Masad (The Palm Fiber) سُورَة المسد

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

تَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبِي لَهَبٍ وَتَبَّ ١

Perish the hands of the Father of Flame! Perish he! (1)

مَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُ مَالُهُ وَمَا كَسَبَ ٢

No profit to him from all his wealth, and all his gains! (2)

سَيَصْلَىٰ نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ ٣

Burnt soon will he be in a Fire of Blazing Flame! (3)

وَامْرَأَتُهُ حَمَّالَةَ الْحَطَبِ ٤

His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood - As fuel!- (4)

فِي جِيدِهَا حَبْلٌ مِنْ مَسَدٍ ٥

A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck! (5)
